Leicester manager Rodgers: You wouldn't want to know what I said at half-time!

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers admits he was furious with his side at half time.

The Foxes went into the interval 2-1 down against Southampton in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Jan Bednarek had opened the scoring, before Jonny Evans equalized. But Che Adams gave the Saints a half-time lead.

Rodgers had words with his players, and they were the superior side in the second period, grabbing an equaliser through James Maddison to earn an away point.

On what he said to his team at half-time, Rodgers told Amazon Prime: "You wouldn't want to know. Every now and then you have to be angry. You have to be direct and it was easy because we were nowhere near the level. You have to earn the right to play football and we didn't do that. Everything was too easy. What we do have is an amazing resilience. We never unravel in a game. Sometimes we are beaten by a better team but we don't unravel. We give a reaction.

"Second half we showed a better mentality in the game. It was tough to come here but we have to be better for ourselves. We didn't give ourselves a chance with that start but we got back into it.

"It means we have to score too any goals to win games. You have to give yourself a foothold in the game. Away from home you have to be strong and we lacked concentration."
