Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has paid tribute to Danish great Lars Hogh after his passing this week.
Schmeichel admits Hogh was hugely influential on his career.
The keeper said, "It's so unreal to have to write this. Even though I basically knew that this day would come.
"It is difficult to try to summarize in an Instagram post what I feel right now and what Lars was for me as a human being. It just does not seem like it is enough.
"Lars was my goalkeeping coach, my mentor, my coach in life, my inspiration and not least my friend. One of the people I have known the longest that I have been closest to and have shared so many amazing hours with, throughout most of my life.
"I'm so deeply grateful to have known him. A completely unique human being. I have never met anyone like Lars.
"Lars was always by my side to support and help me. He has a huge share in my career and my life. The thought of him not getting to stand next to me in the national team jersey is almost unbearable."
