Leicester boss Rodgers: Maddison will come good

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is unconcerned over James Maddison's slow start to the season.

Rodgers remains confident Maddison's ability will shine through.

Rodgers said, “He's a big talent. He is such a technical player who has a wonderful view of the game. It's about keeping that mentality and that continuation of work.

“If he stays clear of some of the little niggles he has had I am sure it will be a great season for him for us.

“Up until he got injured, you saw the improvement in that (his numbers). It's not just him, it's all offensive players, if you're an attacking player, you can't go through a season with two goals and two assists, it doesn't add up.

“These boys here, in my time their numbers will show that they are improving and getting better. And as young players who are hungry to develop, that will only get better.

“James was getting into more threatening positions, creating more and scoring more. Hopefully he and the other guys will take on the responsibility to keep delivering."
