Former Middlesbrough star Djed Spence is heading back to Tottenham.

The defender saw his loan deal at Leeds United cut short as the transfer window opened.

Spence, who was outstanding for Nottingham Forest during a loan spell, has failed to justify his move to Spurs in the past 18 months.

On the decision to cut short the loan, Leeds stated: “Leeds United can confirm Djed Spence has returned to Tottenham Hotspur, bringing his loan spell with the club to an end.

“Spence made seven appearances while with the Whites after joining in the summer transfer window.

“We would like to thank Djed for his efforts while at Elland Road and we wish him well for his future career."
