Leeds defender Bellusci charged with alleged racist abuse

ChampionshipLeeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association after allegedly using racist language towards Norwich City striker Cameron Jerome in October. Bellusci has until 2 January to respond.

Leeds have announced that they intend to contest the charge.

They said in a statement: "The player has consistently made it clear to the club that he did not use racist language.

"The club understands that there is no third party evidence supporting Mr Jerome's allegation. Accordingly, the player will be contesting the charge."
