Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch admits the club's pursuit of a forward has been frustrating.
The Elland Road stadium club are struggling to bring in a quality forward to add depth to their squad.
They were close to securing Charles De Ketelaere, but he chose to move to Italian champions AC Milan instead.
Asked about the matter during a press conference, Marsch stated: "I've said for a long time we have been evaluating for the right striker.
"Patrick (Bamford) being fit helps us in that area. We also have some flexibility. Rodrigo can play there, Dan (James) at times.
"We know we have some good youngsters with Mateo (Joseph Fernandez), Sonny Perkins. We have some good young strikers.
"A lot of it is looking for the right profile, what age we want, without suffocating some of the young players getting chances in the next few years.
"It's trying to find the right age profile, the right player profile and most importantly the right person to come into the team.
"At striker, that's not so easy. The way I like to play the game, we ask a lot of our strikers, to work hard, to press. It's a very demanding position the way I like to play.
"We're trying to find the right one and I think we are being very aggressive in evaluating what's out there."
