Leeds boss Bielsa on defeating 'important opponent Tottenham': We were obliged to give best version of ourselves

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was delighted with his players for victory over Tottenham on Saturday.

Spurs had more to play for on the day, but Leeds were comfortable 3-1 winners.

Bielsa later said, "For a while now we hope to play on an equal term with an important opponent. In some ways today we achieved this.

"The conclusion is linked to the enthusiasm of the players. The rebelliousness to try and look like the teams that are better than us.

"He was very combative, unbalancing and confident in his qualities. This allowed him to have such a good performance.

"Every time a professional football team plays, they are obliged to give a performance to those watching and follow them. They are obliged to give their best version possible. We will try for this."
