Lazio president Claudio Lotito is going for the top job with FIGC.
The Federation is currently without a President, as Carlo Tavecchio resigned in the wake of Italy's failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
“I have 12 clubs behind me," declared Lotito to reporters.
“That means I have the majority. I did not put myself forward as a candidate, but rather others pointed to me. I will only be a candidate if we have the right conditions."'
Lotito is the owner of both Serie A side Lazio and Serie B club Salernitana.
