Italian Serie A club Lazio have distanced themselves from the reported signing of Australian midfielder Mark Bresciano.
The 30-year old, who is currently a free agent after his contract with Palermo expired, has been linked with a move to Lazio, who are based in the Italian capital of Rome.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito said he knew nothing about a move for Bresciano which was hinted at by Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini.
"Bresciano? Did Zamparini say that? What does he know? Bresciano is now a former Palermo player," Lotito said.
Bresciano has also been heavily linked with a move to Florence to join Fiorentina but so far no deal has been agreed upon.
