Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was relieved after their victory over Cagliari.

The Romans won 3-1 to ease the recent frustrations of Sarri.

He said: "It was a fearsome match, it could have been very difficult, Cagliari is fighting against salvation, but 90% of the points they scored were scored at home.

"It was fearsome, but we were good, we played with more quality than usual. We were mentally good when we got the 2-1 goal, it could have become a trap but we immediately took it back and closed it.

"We are talking about a team that everyone defines as being in difficulty, but looking back for a moment at the last 7 games we have scored 16 points, the average is 2.15, an extraordinary average but we have had a bad start to the season and some bad performances, we are paying for this.
