Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri gave a brooding media conference after their 3-1 defeat against Atalanta.
La Dea were always in control for Sunday's win.
Sarri later said: "The league table is becoming more difficult, it is also becoming a source of regret because we missed the 3-2 at the end, we could have equalised the score in the direct clash.
"Atalanta when it is healthy is a bitter pill for everyone, they have a way of playing that involves being in great physical and mental condition. I have to think about the players, I can't start thinking about the transfer market, I'm completely uninterested in it, for me it's not even started. And today's defeat distances us, it's clear."
Last year there was a similar situation. Where do you start again?
"In these situations there is little that can be done, you also evaluate the level of the opponents, tonight in my opinion it was very high. Making drama seems counterproductive to me, we are talking about a top team when it comes to home games, we need to rediscover the mental brilliance."
This year there is great difficulty in scoring...
"I don't have the magic wand, otherwise I wouldn't have worked my a** off for 40 years. I've seen quite evident about drops in individual performances, this isn't even the match in which things went worse, it's clear that we have players who can do more."
Do you no longer feel at the centre of the project?
"Worried? I don't know (president Claudio) Lotito's ideas, I don't have these negative feelings that you say. If you're referring to what was said in the summer regarding the transfer market, it's never so obvious to get the players you ask for, there are many situations. When you lose a minimum of worry in the background you have it, today we found a healthy team that put us under for over 60 minutes, we have a good level of turnover."
Who can give a shock?
"I always hope to recover them all. Felipe Anderson is giving some signs, the hope is that that signal will bring us back to the performance we're accustomed to. Today they gave the feeling of being stronger than us, let's hope that isn't the case in the coming months."
