Newcastle United star Sando Tonali's lawyers are hoping to use Nicolo Fagioli's strategy to avoiding a lengthy ban.
The midfielder has admitted that he bet on football games, including AC Milan when he played for the Italian giants.
However, Tonali stated that his bets were all on Milan to win games, and not to ever draw or lose.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tonali's lawyers hope that pleading guilty and being forthright will work in their client's favor.
Fagioli reported himself to FIGC as soon as he was told about being under investigation.
He was banned for seven months, not the 15 that were previously reported.
