Lascelles injury forces Newcastle to seek replacement

Newcastle United have been forced to push ahead with plans to sign a centre back.

The Magpies have learned that Jamaal Lascelles will be out for the long-term with a knee injury.

They already have Sven Botman out for the long-term as well, adding to manager Eddie Howe's woes.

Ousmane Diomande of Sporting Lisbon is a serious option, per Chronicle Live.

Diomande, who is also wanted by Arsenal and other top clubs, would cost around £68 million.

Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite could also come into the mix, especially if they are relegated.
