After weeks of speculation, Jonathan Viera has formally left Las Palmas.
The decision was made after Viera lost his first-choice status this season.
Las Palmas announced today: "Jonathan Viera ends his time at Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. The player said goodbye today to his teammates and the coaching staff before the start of the session that is taking place at the Gran Canaria Stadium, preparatory to Sunday's match against Cádiz.
"With 265 games played and 75 goals wearing the UD Las Palmas shirt, Jonathan Viera ends his time in yellow. On Tuesday, December 19, he will appear before the media at a press conference, to explain the reasons for his departure from the yellow entity.
"UD Las Palmas thanks Jonathan Viera for his professionalism and dedication in defending the shield and wishes him good luck, both in his future sporting and personal projects."
