Frank Lampard insists he not looking "backwards" as he continues his career with Chelsea.

The 41-year-old spent 13 years with the Blues as a player, completing a dream return as Maurizio Sarri's successor earlier this month.

And the Englishman says he is starting with a clean state at Stamford Bridge.

"For me the story is not to look backwards," said Lampard.

"I know the club very well, I know the players very well. I have my own way that I want to work with the players."
