Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejected a move to China worth $100 million after leaving Manchester United last month.
The Swede instead signed with LA Galaxy, and in typical Ibrahimovic fashion, scored two goals on debut against local rivals, LAFC.
United's exit from the Champions League meant the club allowed Ibrahimovic to cancel his contract and become a free agent.
Sports Illustrated claim Galaxy technical director Jovan Kirovski told them the 36-year-old turned down an offer from a Chinese Super League club that would've paid him a contract worth $100m in total.
Ibrahimovic's deal with the MLS club will only earn him $1.5 million a year. The report claims the former Sweden international said that he wasn't bothered about money at this point in his career.
