Koeman: Football people know I did a good job at Barcelona

Ronald Koeman is adamant he did a "good job" for Barcelona.

The Dutchman was sacked before Christmas and replaced by Xavi last season.

He told Marca: "It always hurts when you can't finish what you wanted to finish, the contract or more years. In my case, I think people who know football, the club, who know Barca's economic situation, think that for them I did a good job.

"I'm not talking about a great job, or a bad job. I think it was a good job in a very complicated situation for Barça. And the situation is always very complicated.

“I hope that Barça can return to what it was before.

"But people who know, know perfectly well that it was a very complicated situation where me, as a coach, I did everything for the club and I accepted things from the club to improve the economic situation. Like letting Griezmann leave for Atlético de Madrid. I never thought about myself, I always did things for Barça. Ultimately, in the world, you have people for and against you."
