A direct call from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp this morning convinced Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo about a move to Anfield.
Arthur is now on Merseyside undergoing a medical at Liverpool ahead of signing for the Reds.
TMW says Liverpool and Juve struck terms over a straight loan for Arthur just after midnight. Klopp would then call Arthur later in the morning to help convince the Brazil international about the move.
An injury to Jordan Henderson last night in victory over Newcastle United forced the Reds into action.
Valencia had also been in talks, but demands over splitting Arthur's salary turned them off.
In contrast, Liverpool have agreed to go 50-50 with Juve on the player's wages as terms were settled within the hour this morning.
