Kaka announces he's leaving AC Milan for Orlando City

Kaka insists his decision to leave AC Milan has nothing to do with their failure to qualify for the Champions League. Kaka has signed with MLS expansion club Orlando City and will spend the first-half of next season on-loan with Sao Paulo.

"It's been a difficult year for everyone, but for me to come back to Milan and reach 300 matches wearing this shirt, as well as reaching 100 goals, has been great," Kaka said.

"My choice to leave is not linked to the fact Milan aren't in the Champions League, it's for a different kind of project.

"I have taken my holidays to think about it, I've always said I wanted to play in America one day and now I have reached an agreement to play there.

"Now I will go on loan to Sao Paulo and then I will begin my adventure in America.

"Orlando City are a new team with a good project and they have a Brazilian owner. I am happy to be going back to Sao Paulo, it is a great feeling for me."
