Shinji Kagawa has left J-League club Cerezo Osaka to sign a three-year deal with German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year old Japan midfielder joined Cerezo in 2006 as a teenager but has decided it was time to move on and test his mettle in a higher standard of competition.

Kagawa has represented the Blue Samurai on 13 occasions but was not a part of the World Cup squad.
