New Juventus signing Felipe Melo insists he's no mercenary after quitting Fiorentina last week.
"I am not a mercenary, I am a professional," insisted Melo. "Fiorentina put a buy-out clause in my contract and Juve paid it.
"The Viola did well out of it too, as they had only paid £6.5m for me a year ago. Juve is also without doubt a good opportunity for me.
"I am certain that the majority of fans will appreciate me for what I did last year."
On facing the Viola next season, Melo added: "We'll see what happens. If they jeer me the way they did Roberto Baggio and Giorgio Chiellini, then I will just focus on being even more concentrated."
