Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon attempted to stick up for AC Milan's Dida after the Brazilian's howler against Inter yesterday.

Dida allowed Esteban Cambiasso's shot to squirm out of reach for Inter's winner and Buffon, after keeping a clean sheet in Juve's 2-0 defeat of Siena, said: "It almost happened to me with Paul Codrea's free-kick.

"It's these new balls. You need to keep your feet until the very last moment."
