Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba says he wants to make his critics eat their words.
Speaking with Al Jazeera, Pogba also admitted he considered retirement at the height of the blackmail scandal involving his brother, Mathais.
He said, "I want to make them take back their words and show that I am not weak. They can speak badly of me, but I will never give up."
Pogba also said: "I thought about leaving football. Money changes people and can destroy a family, it can create a war.
"Sometimes, when I was alone, I thought 'I don't want to have money anymore, I don't want to play football anymore. I just want to be with normal people, so they will love me for who I am, not for the fame, not for the money.' Sometimes it's hard."
Pogba was speaking before today's reports of a failed drug test after Juve's clash at Udinese on August 20.
