Jules Kounde 'happy' after winning Barcelona debut against Valladolid

Jules Kounde was delighted with his winning debut in Barcelona's defeat of Real Valladolid.

Kounde was one of the standout performers in Barcelona's 4-0 victory over Real Valladolid, as the defender made his debut for the Catalan giants after he was finally registered with LaLiga on Saturday.

Despite being made to wait for his debut with his new club, the former Sevilla defender was in high spirits after the full time whistle.

"I've felt comfortable in both positions, although I prefer to play as a centre-back," he said, after debuting at right-back.

"I've been feeling good although I still have to learn concepts, but I'm doing well.

"I still have a while to go before I'm at my best. I came here to win titles and to keep progressing.

"I'm happy for the win. It's very good for the team to continue to gain confidence."

Barcelona's main summer signing, though, is Robert Lewandowski and he was in sparkling form as he netted a brace.

Kounde played against the Polish forward during his career with Sevilla, yet he was altogether more positive about playing on the same side.

"We already knew the player we'd signed," he explained.

"He's a striker who has everything, he shows it with his goals and his play.

"He's one of the best in the world and he helps us with his goals".
