Ivan Rakitic says he wants to play for Barcelona - though will leave the door open to leaving in January.

The midfielder featured in victory at Atletico Madrid yesterday, having previously complained about a lack of playing opportunities.

Rakitic told Marca, "I want to try to turn things around. If you feel bad or sad, you have to leave that behind. I do not know what will happen, but there is no better place to play than FC Barcelona.

"If I can play, there is no better than Barça. What I want to do is take pleasure, do my best because I still have a lot to give.

"I do not understand the situation because I want to play. I want to enjoy it every day, and if it can be here it's much better."
