Ipswich boss McCarthy hails Andre Dozzell after goalscoring debut

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy was delighted with Andre Dozzell's debut in their draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Ipswich equalised on 71 minutes through 16-year-old debutant Dozzell, who was on as a substitute. The son of former Ipswich and Tottenham star Jason Dozzell headed in a Liam Feeney cross from close range.

McCarthy said: "Good genes produce good players and Andre (Dozzell) is a good player.

"I thought he deserved his opportunity. I always said that if we got to the end of the season and it looked like it had drifted away from us, I'd give him a chance."
