Inzaghi: Pavard perfect for Inter Milan; Lautaro a future Ballon d'Or winner

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi admits he's delighted with the form of Benjamin Pavard.

The France defender joined Inter in August from Bayern Munich.

Inzaghi, for Inter's Champions League presser against RB Salzburg, said: "We are and I am very happy with Benjamin. He is a perfect player for our system. We wanted him badly and we are happy.

"Against Bologna he also did well in the insertions, against Torino he did less but he came from a match with the national team. With the insertion from (Denzel) Dumfries I had to choose between him and (Matteo) Darmian. I'm happy with what he's doing and he'll get even better."

Asked if Lautaro Martinez is worthy of the Ballon d'Or, Inzaghi added: "Clearly yes, for the path taken and for the trophies won. He must be there that night, I don't think he will win but he must continue like this. Even in the first two years with me he did very, very well."
