Inter Milan chief Ausilio: De Boer just didn't work

Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio insists sacking Frank de Boer had to be done.

Inter are still to find a replacement for the Dutchman.

"A lot has been said over the last few days, when in reality we did very normal things in the calm search for a new Coach, seeing as we had a talented guy like (Primavera youth team Coach Stefano) Vecchi already," Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.

“We saw three people, not 20, even if every now and then people like to create a bit of cinema around Inter. In 48 hours we'll let everyone know what our choice us.

“We discuss everything with the club owners. Inter are not divided and we can't come out and deny every story every day. The new owners have only been here for four months, we must give the club time to readjust its structure.

“Something didn't work with the former Coach, but we have to look forward and do better. We have the humility and sense of responsibility to do better. We just need a couple of days and then there will be an announcement."
