INSIDER: Sanson can be happy with his Aston Villa start

French pundits are convinced Morgan Sanson will prove himself at Aston Villa.

The January signing from Marseille has been gradually introduced by Villa boss Dean Smith.

And RMC's Salim Baungally told Foot Mercato: "When he arrived, I was dubious because the midfield of Aston Villa was going pretty well. There were some pretty interesting things, a certain way of playing and the players for it. In the end, little by little, the doubts faded.

"On the one hand, he started to play. It is important to point this out. At first, he didn't play much. But little by little, I'm not going to say that he became an indisputable starter, but he played more and more.

"He is also currently benefiting from the injury of Jack Grealish. So that makes a player in that area, a midfielder-offensive player, that he is able to replace. He is part of that rotation of first, second or third man who can be there at all times. In itself, it is not bad. It's not that bad. But it's still early. After, that is justified because it has just happened. We can not ask him to be transcendent in a club which before him was doing well."
