Injury watch at Man Utd, Arsenal, etc: Big names return for Prem top 6

After intense deliberation, Premier League action is set to return to our screens on June 17, with nine match days left to play before the 2019/2020 season draws to a close.

The enforced break has given a bunch of injured players in the top six a chance to recover and regain full fitness just in time to complete the season as their respective teams look to secure Champions League qualification - here's a look at those players:

Manchester United

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba has barely featured for Manchester United this season due to injury and fitness concerns - he's played just eight games for the Red Devils with his last outing coming in United's 4-1 victory over Newcastle on boxing day.

Due to his prolonged absence from Premier League action, Pogba is yet to play alongside January signing Bruno Fernandes.

United fans have been anticipating a Pogba/Fernandes midfield partnership for months now, and judging by the looks of things both players could be deployed alongside each other for the first time in United's return fixture against Tottenham.

How Pogba and Fernandes get along on the pitch is sure to be an interesting sub-plot to follow when the league restarts, but based on their respective skill sets, they're likely to link-up quite nicely in United's midfield.

Marcus Rashford

Rashford has been out of contention for Manchester United since January when he sustained a double stress fracture of his back, an injury that was expected to keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

His injury put United in a dire position considering he was their main goal threat, but luckily for Solskjaer, United still managed to put up some solid displays after the 22-year-old's injury.

The England international has now returned to full fitness just in time for the Premier League's resumption.

Manchester City

Leroy Sane

Sane has been out injured since August after suffering a knee ligament injury in City's community shield game against Liverpool.

Despite being injured, the young German has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich with the Bavarian giants looking to bolster their ranks.

Notwithstanding his potential move to the Bundesliga, City fans will be happy to have Sane back in the side for the remainder of the season.

Aymeric Laporte

Laporte suffered a hamstring injury in City's 2-1 win over Real Madrid back in February. His injury was a major setback for City considering how important he is for Pep Guardiola's preferred style of play.

Guardiola will be happy to have him back for the rest of the season as he looks to lead his side to a strong finish.

Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane

Like Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane was expected to miss out on the rest of the Premier League campaign after sustaining a hamstring injury back in January, but he has now returned to first-team training and is, by his own admission "back to normal" and "fully fit".

Tottenham have struggled a fair bit without Kane as a focal point up front - his return will aid Jose Mourinho's side as the Portuguese tactician looks to secure a top four finish at the end of the season.

Kane has scored 11 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season - he'll be looking to add to that tally when the league makes its return.

Moussa Sissoko

Moussa Sissoko has also fully recovered from a knee injury which he suffered in Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Southampton back in January, granting them more options in the middle of the park.

Steven Bergwijn

January signing Steven Bergwijn sustained an ankle injury back in March, but he has since recovered and is set to play a major role in Tottenham's battle for a spot in the top four.

Before his injury, Bergwijn was putting up some promising displays for Spurs scoring two goals in five appearances, Jose Mourinho will be hoping that the Dutchman can replicate or even better that form for his side.

Son Heung-Min

Son suffered a fractured arm against Aston Villa back in February which was expected to keep him out for the rest of the season - the league's postponement has given Son time to recover as he's now set to feature for Spurs when the season restarts.

The South Korean has been Tottenham's most influential player this season having scored nine goals and registered seven assists in 20 Premier League starts, which means Mourinho and Spurs fans alike will be glad to have him back.

Arsenal

Kieran Tierney

Arsenal fans will finally get to see their summer signing in action again following his recovery from a dislocated shoulder which he suffered back in December.

Tierney is expected to be a key player for Arsenal as Arteta looks to lead the Gunners to a respectable finish come the end of the season.

Sead Kolasinac

Prior to his injury, Kolasinac wasn't in the best of form. The Greece international was on the receiving end of constant criticism for his inconsistent displays in defence.

With Kieran Tierney also fully fit now, Kolasinac is unlikely to get much game time from now till the end of the season.

Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi is back training with Arsenal's first-team after recovering from a tight quad. He'd been out injured since February, putting a dent in Arsenal's squad depth.

Like Kolasinac, Mustafi has received a ton of criticism from Arsenal fans due to his poor performances, but he's expected to feature in Arteta's squad, at least until the transfer window opens up.

Cedric Soares

Arsenal signed Cedric from Southampton on a loan deal back in January, but the Portuguese right-back is yet to make a single appearance for the Gunners after suffering a knee injury soon after his move to the Emirates.

He's now fully fit and is expected to compete to play as Arsenal's right-back up until the end of the season.

Lucas Torreira

Arsenal fans will be pleased to know that Torreira has now fully recovered from his ankle fracture. He's now back in training, and is expected to continue his role in Arsenal's midfield.

Chelsea

Ruben-Loftus Cheek

Loftus-Cheek has sat out the entire Premier League season so far due to an Achilles tendon rupture. He's finally made a full recovery putting him in contention for a place in Lampard's squad once the league campaign returns.

Lampard is expected to slowly integrate him into the squad, with a few substitute appearances in a bid to build up his match fitness.

Christian Pulisic

Pulisic has not featured for Chelsea since Jan 1, due to an injury to his midsection. He has since made a full recovery and is expected to return to his role on the left flank for the remaining games of the season.

N'Golo Kante

Kante has struggled with injury problems throughout the course of the 2019/2020 season, but the Premier League's hiatus has given him ample time to make a full recovery.

The Frenchman is now ready to face the rest of the season with Lampard keen on leading Chelsea to a top four finish.

Liverpool

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri's season has not gone as he'd have liked after being restricted to just 11 appearances in all competitions due to injury problems.

His return to full fitness is yet to be confirmed but he's been spotted at training, which could mean he's ready to go once the league resumes.

Jordan Henderson

Henderson suffered a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid back in February - by the time he made his full recovery in March, the league had gone on its hiatus.

With the league set to return on June 17, Henderson will be keen on returning to Liverpool's first-team to lead his side to the Premier League trophy.
