I would tell Costa face-to-face what I think of him - Former Chelsea boss Grant

Avram Grant says he definitely would have given Diego Costa a dressing down following his antics on the weekend.

The Chelsea striker tossed his bid in the direction of manager Jose Mourinho during Sunday's 0-0 draw with Tottenham when he was an unused sub at White Hart Lane.

Mourinho shrugged off the incident during his post-match press conference but former Blues boss Grant suggests the Spaniard may have been the subject of some heated words from the Portuguese tactician.

"It has not been an easy season for Diego Costa," said Grant on Sky Sports News HQ. "But I did not like his reaction.

"On one hand you want the players to be passionate and want to play, but imagine if all the players took off their shirts and threw them off! I don't think it would be good for the team.

"Publicly, I would not say anything but I would tell him face-to-face what I think of his behaviour and what he needs to do better to play."
