I needed to breathe Old Trafford - Liverpool boss Klopp explains build-up to Man Utd encounter

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he opted to move Reds training to Old Trafford on Wednesday night in order to ensure his side's preparation for their Europa League clash with Manchester United was no different to any other European fixture.

Only 35 miles separates Merseyside from Manchester, but Klopp revealed he felt it was important his players had an opportunity to 'breathe the stadium' the night before the contest.

"I didn't think one second about it - we come one day early," Klopp said.

"It's a Europa League game, it's always like this. Only the trip was different - normally we fly. That's the only difference. It's a normal European game.

"I enjoy to breathe the stadium the night before the game. There was no way we weren't going to take the opportunity to train here."
