I could not join another Premier League club - Chelsea defender Terry

Chelsea captain John Terry admits he would not be able to play for another club in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old defender is still playing top quality football with the current English champions but says when the time comes to leave Stamford Bridge, he would look for a similar move to Steven Gerrard, who departed Liverpool for MLS giants LA Galaxy, rather than follow in the footsteps of Frank Lampard or Petr Cech who signed with league rivals Manchester City and Arsenal.

"I could handle being on the bench or not in the team, for sure," Terry said as quoted by the Daily Telegraph.

"People like me and Steven want to play, of course, that is our natural instinct.

"When you play your whole career, it's hard. If I then felt Chelsea were going to release me or thought I had nothing else to give, but I thought I could, then of course I would still want to continue to play.

"But that would not be in the Premier League, for sure."
