Hwang quickly impressed by new Wolves teammate Diego Costa

Hee Chan Hwang was happy to be back for Wolves in defeat at Chelsea on Saturday.

The South Korean had already missed a chunk of the campaign when he suffered an adductor muscle strain having found the back of the net on international duty, but with his latest return to the pitch, Hwang is hoping to show what he is capable of to help Wolves out of their current slump in form.

Hwang told the club's website: “I'm focusing on things that I can do. Even in a situation like this, I have belief in myself. I'm trying my best to improve things that I may be lacking. I believe that I can be better.

“I know that I have more to show. My strongest desire now is to be grateful to have come back from the injury, to work hard in training and show what I'm capable of when I'm on the pitch."

On new teammate Diego Costa, Hwang added: “He hasn't played in a while so he may not be at his 100 per cent, but in training, I was able to see why he was such a great player. I was also able to see what kind of player he is as well.

“He showed his qualities in training already. He's a player who can help our team and I'm also watching him to learn and to compete with him to help the team."
