Jordan Rhodes gave himself every chance of being selected for Scotland's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Serbia.
The 22-year old Huddersfield Town ace pulled the Scots level at Easter Road on Wednesday night in their eventual 3-1 friendly win over Australia with his first international goal and is now gunning for a starting spot against the Serbian side in the Group A opener in Glasgow on September 8.
"There won't be much sleeping tonight because I'm sky high. It's for the manager to decide if I play against Serbia but I certainly won't be counting my chickens," he said last night.
"Playing and scoring at Hampden is something I've always dreamed of and hopefully the chance comes. Whether that's next month, next year or ten years away I'll just try to do my best whenever I'm selected.
"Just walking out and hearing the national anthem gave me goosebumps. It was fantastic.
"I just tried to get myself into good positions and thankfully I got a chance that went in."
