Grant Holt is ready to stay with Norwich City.
The People says the striker had a transfer request turned down by the club last week, and the Canaries have been working on a new deal ever since.
He has two years to run on his current £16,000-a-week contract but Norwich are prepared to make him the highest paid player in the club's history.
Exact terms have not yet been agreed but Holt will earn in excess of £20k-a-week to become their top earner. He could also get an improved goal bonus and release clause.
