Former Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld admits he's frustrated seeing his old club fail to land Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.
Bayern have pursued a deal for Sane all summer, but it now appears off after the winger's ACL injury.
Hitzfeld is convinced City were ready to sell Sane before he broke down in the Community Shield - and says the player should've spoken out.
"It was not correct on Sané's part that he was not clear with neither Bayern nor Manchester City," Hitzfeld tells Blick, who also insists Pep Guardiola shouldn't have selected him for the defeat of Liverpool.
"I wouldn't have done that, but if your club is about to make such a big deal, then you can't play him in a pretty meaningless match."
