Zavon Hines was delighted to hit West Ham's winner in last night's 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.
Hines's injury-time winner against Aston Villa was his first goal in the Premier League and could not have come at a better moment for a club who took another big hit this week when former manager Alan Curbishley won his constructive dismissal case.
Hines looks certain to replace Cole against Everton on Sunday and the following weekend he could figure in England's Under-21 European qualifier against Portugal at Wembley.
"I'm a very different player to Carlton, who's been tremendous for us so far, but I'm ready to do my level best," he said. "It's all about taking your chance when you get it. I had been plugging away in the reserves but I've got my opportunity this season and I've tried to take it."
