Former Lazio star Hernanes is backing his old club for the Scudetto this season.

Hernanes, now 34, is currently turning out for Sao Paulo.

“Inzaghi's team deserve to be there and I'm happy for Lazio, who are certainly enjoying this splendid ride," he said. “It's fun to see them play. I hope they can win the Scudetto.

“Everybody has followed the Italian League and they are surprised by what Lazio are doing. Especially since they have seen Juventus win the League for eight years with ease.

“Nobody could keep up with them, they ran too fast for everyone. Now the two title contenders are the two sides I played for during my time in Italy, so many people stop me to talk about it."
