Hassli intent on breaking Vancouver Whitecaps scoring drought

Eric Hassli is determined to break a 14-match MLS goalscoring drought as soon as possible for Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 30-year old former FC Zurich and FC Metz striker hasn't netted since August last year but is keen to rectify that in the next game or two.

"I know it's going to come but I'm a striker and you live by the goals you score," Hassli told the Vancouver Sun. "I hope it's going to come really quick."

But even though he has yet to hit the back of the net in four matches this term, Hassli has set up two of the four Whitecaps goals with head coach Martin Rennie suggesting he is happy with the contribution of the Frenchman.

"With strikers, you have to look at their play and if their play is good and they're doing all the right things and they're working hard, then you're not so worried about it," he said. "I think the goals will come."
