Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart says their fans deserve a derby win at Manchester United.

City have won just two of their last seven outings to find themselves nine points adrift of Chelsea, who still have a game in hand.

England goalkeeper Hart said: "The derby is obviously important, but we need to win for our own sake.

"We need to get as many points as we can in the games that remain and finish where we want to finish in the Premier League.

"Because United are so high in the league at the moment, we know that if we finish above them it will obviously be better for us.

"But we also owe our fans a victory in this game because they've been fantastic towards us."
