Hart: Man City players grateful to departing Pellegrini

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has expressed the gratitude of the playing group towards manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The charming Chilean oversaw his final home match in charge of City which ended in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, bringing about the end of an era.

Pellegrini has spent three seasons at the Etihad Stadium, winning the 2014 Premier League title and two Capital One Cups, and will have left a lasting legacy according to a thankful Hart.

As the players said farewell to the fans after the clash with the Gunners, Hart was asked whether the players will miss Pellegrini: "Yeah of course," he told CityTV.

"We played some really attractive football, we've set some impressive records in the league.

"As far as entertainment goes, when we won the league (in 2014) we were first to 100 goals.

"We've looked to improve every year as a club. In the last couple of years it has been about trying to go on an upward rise and trophies are part of our DNA now.

"We're very grateful for what we've done (under Pellegrini). We've got one more job to do next week which is really important but we are very thankful for our time."

Pellegrini will manage City for the final time when they travel to Swansea City next weekend.
