Hangeland: Fulham fans convinced me about new deal

Fulham skipper Brede Hangeland says the fans influenced his decision to sign a new contract.

He agreed a two-year deal last month.

"I was just really pleased to sort it out and commit myself to Fulham for some more years. I'm certainly really happy to have signed," Hangeland told the club's programme.

"I haven't really seen what the fans have said, but I'm told they were very happy about me signing which is nice to hear.

"The supporters have always been great to me here and we seem to have a great bond.

"I've loved my time here. It's a special football club; it has a great family feel to it and some great people behind the scenes. Craven Cottage is a wonderful stadium too.

"I couldn't really see myself at any other team in the Premier League so to have signed and to know I'm here for a few more years is great.

"I didn't know much about the club when I signed, there were quite a few teams interested in me, but I ended up at Fulham and it has been brilliant."
