Morton winger Jim McAlister has signed a two year deal with Hamilton. The 24-year-old had a trial with Championship club Watford last season, and was linked with Celtic.

But McAlister has agreed a deal at New Douglas Park as Hamilton's first summer signing, and manager Billy Reid admits the winger has been on his wanted list for a while.

"I've admired Jim for a long time," Reid told the Daily Record.

"He has a lot of ability and I hope with us he can show why so many sides have watched him in the past."
