Guizhou Renhe failed to agree terms with Everton's Cahill

Chinese Super League club Guizhou Renhe has revealed that they held talks with Everton star Tim Cahill but could not come to an agreement.

The 32-year old Australian was spotted in the stands as Renhe took on Guangdong Sunray Cave in a cup tie on the weekend but head coach Gao Hongbo has made it clear that he attended as a guest after a potential deal to sign for the Guiyan club fell through.

"The club actually had negotiations with Tim Cahill, but failed to reach an agreement," Gao told Soccerway.

"There were some technical problems, so Mr Cahill visits Guizhou this time. We really hope he could be interested in Guiyang and our club."

Cahill's future at Goodison Park has been questioned recently and will be even more so after the club signed Steven Naismith from Rangers who plays a similar role to the Aussie.
