Pep Guardiola offered his resignation to new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell last night. Sport says the pair met face-to-face in the evening and Guardiola, which is tradition for every incumbent coach when dealing with a new president, offered his resignation to Rosell - which was immediately refused.
Indeed, Rosell made clear to Guardiola that he wanted to soon enter negotiations about a new contract - and longer terms than his existing 12 month deal.
"Everything has been very friendly, we talked about many things," said Rosell last night.
The new Barca president assured Guardiola he would not interfere in team matters and was also keen to hear the coach's opinion on whether sports director Txiki Begiristain should be kept on.
