Granada enjoy Europa League win over Omonia

Granada defeated Omonia 2-0 on Thursday night to maintain top spot in Group I of the Europa League.

Goals from Yangel Correa and Luis Suarez earned Granada the points.

The Spanish side got off to the perfect start when Yangel Herrera scored after just four minutes with a header from a Angel Montoro cross.

The visitors were then handed a further boost after Omonia striker Michal Duris was shown a second yellow card, although the Cypriots could feel a little aggrieved with the decision.

Moments later, Granada were very fortunate not to have a penalty awarded against them as Omonia's Eric Bautheac was pushed to the ground on the stroke of half time, with the referee waving away the protests despite clear contact.

Despite the controversy, Granada were the better side on the night and eventually found the goal that put the game to bed, as Luis Suarez remained calm in front of goal to make it 2-0 just after the hour mark.
