Girona coach Michel was delighted with their 2-1 win at Rayo Vallecano.

The result, via goals from Artem Dovbyk and Savio, keeps Girona top of the LaLiga table.

Michel later said: "Winning here, against a Rayo team that takes the lead, who had not lost in eight games, has no name.

"I have enjoyed and suffered at the same time but we are very satisfied, Vallecas is dedicated to the team and it is very difficult to do what we have done.

"Having a clear idea is key. We have players with a high level of football and mental talent. Our pulse does not tremble in the face of high pressure and from there everything is built."

Míchel had praise for his players, "The team has had 13 outstanding days, like today. The improvement we can give to the block is to continue at this level. Only Barça and Madrid have achieved six consecutive victories away from home, there are no words to describe what these players are achieving."
