Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has announced an agreement for Real Zaragoza midfielder Alberto Zapater.

"We have a deal with the player and only details separate us from completing the transfer, so I really don't think this could collapse," said Preziosi.

"He is an important player, though I don't believe he is the new Thiago Motta, as they are different players. He can do very well with Houssine Kharja.

"Zapater's contract was set to expire, which is why we managed to pay less for him than his true value."
