Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is angry with the agent of Thiago Motta touting the midfielder to Roma yesterday.
"It was inopportune in its content, rushed in its timing and easily disclaimed in its substance," slammed the Press release.
"Genoa deny any talks for Thiago Motta or indeed anyone else in its first team squad. He has a contract until June 30 2012 and therefore any other club interested must only go through us.
"This club confirms it will not tolerate such speculative behaviour, which is unprofessional and aimed at causing controversy during a period of the season that requires a great deal of concentration.
"Genoa would also like to point out that Canovi's words have not in any way changed the excellent rapport of mutual respect and trust with Thiago Motta, who is an exemplary professional."
